Our Values

Mission Statement

  • To nurture the growth of the child physically, socially, cognitively and emotionally.

  • To provide a warm, safe and accepting environment in which each child feels happy, secure, respected and loved and can develop compassion and empathy for others.

  • To provide an enriched, stimulating environment which fosters independence within which the child is an active explorer and learner and can develop self-direction and a true love of learning.

  • To provide a framework of discipline through which a child can develop self-discipline and responsibility to self and others.

  • To strengthen the self-esteem of each child.

  • To encourage the development of creativity in each child.

  • To foster social development so that children become good problem-solvers and communicators.

  • To develop a sense of community which nurtures respect, understanding and acceptance of all people.

We believe the most important period of development is from birth to six years old.

We are dedicated to providing a program which in all ways facilitates that development!

The program is for children between the ages of two-and-a-half and six years of age. It is designed to be a three-year program culminating in kindergarten, although children who will go to kindergarten somewhere else will still benefit greatly from participating for one or two years. Discovery Children’s House is also an excellent choice for children with fall birthdays who may benefit from the gift of an extra year before entering kindergarten.
